Installing at Cable Street Gallery text from education booklet: Richard Makin's work, 'Two Doors', juxtaposes the physicality of doors as a point of entry with text from a novel-in-process called Ravine. The text has many interwoven themes, amongst which are references to aspects of Jewish culture. From this point of view, the work relates to the Jewish presence in the area. On other levels, it explores the written word itself as a point of entry to various experiences.
