As a Japanese immigrant to the UK, Yuki Sawada is drawn to an examination of the unique chemistry of the East End that has evolved from centuries of immigration. Through paint she visually maps out the historical 'points' when each set of people entered the area. This work also focuses on the linguistic inventiveness of the area, the slang that has evolved over many years.
