Floodgate

Lalitte Stolper's work consists of a video projection of a river, angled towards floodgates made of mirror and polished steel. the effect of the work is that the audience finds itself in the river. The work deals directly with metaphors around immigration, specifically the derogatory and inaccurate political metaphor of floods or tides of immigrants, against which the floodgates are a 'defence'.
