We, at The Guidebook, are happy to support any artistic activity, particularly when it has street-cred, like this venture. We believe this type of support for artists helps to raise our profile in the right way to the right audiences. Through the actions of these artists, we now share their credibility, their profile, their energy - all great things for our image. We are proud sponsors of this exhibition, the "Illegal Art Show".

Each artist in the spontaneous street exhibition was given the corporate logo to wear for the duration of the exhibition. Each exhibited piece proudly displayed our corporate logo. Each performer also carried the logo. The anarchic event became corporate sponsored.

While many participants in the "Illegal Art Show" understood the role The Guidebook was playing in participating in this event and played along with a sense of irony, a few artists did actually take it at face value. These artists were generally younger, recent graduates and students.

"Do you really sponsor artists? Will you sponsor me?"

"Yes I saw you had sponsored artwork at EAST. Can you pay for some plastic to cover my work from getting wet in the show?"

"What kind of sponsorship is this? what do I get out of it?"
The Guidebook: "You get credibility and legitimacy. We can make your art visible and important by virtue of sponsoring it"
